portfolio sitesWant to post your images online – easily – without being a techno-freak?

I got a note from another artist today who told about a whole bunch of websites where you can post your photos and art images both for free and for fee. Here’s what he says: here are places where you can can post your images:
http://flickr.com
http://picasaweb.google.com
http://smugmug.com
http://photobucket.com
http://snapfish.com
http://shutterfly.com and
http://webshots.com

There are also ‘pro’ photo websites “for the aspiring amateur or seasoned pro, these sites are already designed and built, so you just have to plug in your shots and information, pay the fee and go. The benefit is a professional-looking website without having to go through an expensive designer. These include:
http://photoshelter.com
http://photobiz.com
http://entheosweb.com
http://foliolink.com.
http://weebly.com
http://webs.com

If someone has more time and
wants to build a professional looking and very flexible site, http://joomla.org is also an option.

Elsha Bohnert: Trash Sculptor!

elsha-barbie-silverCheck out the new Featured Artist of the Month here and see what you think….

One day last month, a friend of mine sent out an email from Bangkok.

He was on his way elsewhere, and wanted to include thanks and farewells to some of his friends in Bali, one of whom was Elsha, this month’s Featured Artist.

And now I’m happy to be able to say that Elsha has just come back here to Hawaii from living in Bali for a year.

I looked her up and loved her work – it’s so fresh it’s almost rude; I like how out loud it is with the bright colors and powerful visual commentary without any verbal cues.

I like it because it’s 3-D and very in-your-face, yet it’s really not rude at all – it’s more fascinating than rude. Check it out here:

2 Crazy Artists: Ron Schmitt & Ric Hall

The Daring Dreamers Showcase

ARTWORK RATING: 10/10

Ric Hall and Ron Schmitt are a couple of guys living in the Pacific Northwest who produce the most unusual pastels and paintings I’ve seen in a long time. As soon as I saw their work I knew I had to interview them! Their work is, to me, very profound–it’s so full of questions and possibilities we’d never consider unless we’d seen these images.

I invite you to click on the IDareYouRadio logo above to listen in as I interview them. They work on the same pieces at the same time, side-by-side, totally defying the myth of the Artist Ego!

Ironing Out A Relationship

One is a veteran world-traveller, one is a love-to-stay-at-home guy, happy to never leave his backyard.

One is a let’s-just-do-art and nevermind the galleries guy, the other markets.

As they leave their egos behind, they create these marvelous, compelling images, standing side-by-side as they create each image in gemlike pastels.

Striving for Judicial Heights

The ones you see here are only a couple of their huge collection.

Click here for their site: Schmitt-Hall-Studios.com.

Run your mouse over each image for its title, and click on any one of them to go to the interview.

I think their work is amazing, mysterious, and really powerful.

I really love the color, the emotion and the sheer mystery in each piece which allows the viewer to make up his own story about what’s going on. If you love their work, I invite you to support their vision by getting one of their prints–or two or three!

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Art is an entirely subjective experience–do you love this work the way I do? What do you love, hate or admire about it? Maybe you aren’t familiar with how difficult it can be for two artists to work on one project, much less side-by-side all day on one piece at a time! Could you do that? Comments are open….
