How Do You Deal with This ‘Evil’?

Dangerous Questions, Rant 1 Comment

01-grrrrrr2Last week I heard from almost everyone I spoke with here on Oahu that they were tired, or they felt ill or nauseous, had herpes breakouts, felt down or disillusioned, depressed, exhausted.

I was stunned to see so many people down at the dumps. But when I spoke with my health coach on Saturday, I got an answer.

She told me her ‘inside info people’ had told her that the

Are You Eating Toxic FGD Gypsum?

Rant Comments Off

sm-rage2As if the gov and big corps don’t do enough to make life more toxic, this is beyond the pale.

Do you know what FGD Gypsum is? I didn’t until today. Now I have even greater reason to eat organic – but apparently, even that may not be safe…read on (this is an excerpt from Dr. Mercola’s newsletter. Link to the entire artcile at bottom of this post). According to Dr. Mercola:

“The U.S. government is encouraging farmers to spread a chalky waste from coal-fired power plants on their fields to loosen and fertilize soil.

“The material is produced by power plant “scrubbers” that remove acid-rain-causing sulfur dioxide from plant emissions. The substance is a synthetic form of the mineral gypsum, and it also contains mercury, arsenic, lead and other heavy metals.

“The Environmental Protection Agency says those toxic metals occur in only tiny amounts. But some environmentalists say too little is known about how the material affects crops, and ultimately human health.

“There does not appear to be any kind of grassroots movement to stop this practice. Or if there is, I’ve not been able to find it. However, there is one thing I’d encourage you to do, and that is to bring your concerns about the agricultural use of FGD gypsum to the attention of organic growers everywhere.

“Why?

“Because it appears use of FGD gypsum may have trickled into organic farming as well, since it’s not considered a petroleum-based soil additive, which is forbidden in organic farming.

“One of the significant benefits of buying locally-grown, organic food is that you can oftentimes meet the growers face to face. You can ask questions about their growing practices and discuss your personal concerns with them directly. And that is a dialogue I believe must be revived.”

sm-shareRANT # II: “MY SCATTERED MONKEY MIND

Today I got a note from a friend who was saying how she felt scattered, and that her ‘monkey mind’ was all over the place.

In alignment with the above mindset, I said this to her:
“I suggest that you stop criticizing the parts of you that you don’t like or that people say are bad! Love your monkey mind!

Give it bananas! Bribe it to be quiet when you need quiet! it just wants you to love it. It’s smart, and will support you if you can give it a way to do so.

“The main thing to keep in mind is your value and your direction–what do you want people to remember you by; what unique-to-you thing can you leave as a legacy, and live it in your life?”

And here’s another thought: what if a scattered mind isn’t a ‘bad’ thing? What if your mind goes that way because you’re like an aggregator of thoughts, and they come into you and go out of you in just the right places–kind of like an oracle? Where is the strength in scattered thoughts that you could take empowerment from?

We’re so hard on ourselves. We have these nail-encrusted inner whips with which we torture ourselves. Sometimes we make ourselves feel guilty just for being alive!

Quit it! Invite yourself to be your own special inner friend–the one you dream about finding on the outside. Have great conversations and bitching sessions and laugh fests and Dream times; have inner high tea and glamorous dinners and exotic breakfasts. Discover inner hideaways and imaginings that make you feel rich and alive. Good grief, how long are we here for? 100 plus or minus years? It’s so short–why beat yourself up for 90% of it?

And of course, remember to tap – It works!

Can YOU Say, “I Adore You!” to Yourself–Truthfully?

Lovey Stuff, Rant, Self-Help Comments Off

sm-loveRANT #1: I ADORE YOU!

Recently I found myself really arguing with myself about some of the stuff I was eating. I realized that it was as if I had a belief that ALL food was ‘bad’ for me, no matter what it was! How on earth did I get there, for goodness’ sake!?!

Well, that doesn’t even matter. I decided not to even tap on it, because I figure what we all need most is a simple load of love. So I thought I’d do an experiment just for fun: adore everything. And I do mean everything, too, from feeling groggy in the morning to the nasty dog next door to the man across the canal who yells ceaselessly at his kids. From my angel-filled garden to my artwork to my list to my books…and every last thing in between.

So each time I sit down to eat, I take an extra second to imagine that all 3 trillion of my body’s cells are opening just like lovely gardenias or lotus flowers, and pure, multi-colored white Light from Source is pouring into each cell, each flower, and drenching it with the feeling of deep love.

Then I say to my food, “I adore you! I’m going to adore each bite, too!” And I’ve been on a bliss trip for the few days since I started doing it! Give it a try–all anyone and anything wants is to be loved–so why not give it to them?!? It’s so much easier than resisting and fear and judging and withdrawing and feeling over-protective. It’s so much more sweet on your body than anger, frustration, resentment and blame.

Just say, “I adore you!” in your mind. It’s that simple. Even if you have previously detested whatever or whoever it is, try it anyway. They won’t know! No one but you knows! See how it feels–I believe you will find it to be a real eye-opener experiment.

And of course, remember to tap along with your experiment of saying “I adore!” It works!

aloha -
Angela

p.s. I love you, even if you don’t!

RANT: Be Kind to #1

EFT / MTT / Tapping, Energy Work, Rant 3 Comments

kailua-beach2

RANT: Yesterday I went for a walk on the beach with my friend, Kalona. Near the end of our walk, we sat on a bench under some ironwood trees and sat there yeow-yeowing, watching the wind on the waves and the evening sky draw closer.

As we spoke, Kalona said something I hear from a lot of people. I want to share my response with you, because I have a feeling it might help you let go of some of the pressure you feel in your life.

We were talking about health, and she said, “I’m not taking care of myself.”

Ask yourself how many times you say that, or hear friends say it. Usually, there is a smiling but determined statement right afterwards having to do with intending to ‘do better.’

I could feel that there was a deeper truth she was missing. So I said to her, “Let’s rephrase that to be more kind to you.”

Kalona has come a long way–only a few years ago, she started a little fledgling business doing weddings with a Hawaiian style for people from all over the world. Now she has one of the most popular and most unusual wedding services in Hawaii.* It’s been such a pleasure to see her progress, and move right through what, at the time, seemed like impossible impasses before.

I felt like she was undermining herself and all the hard work she had done on herself by saying that she wasn’t taking care of herself. Because in my experience of her, both as coach and as her friend, it’s easy to see that she constantly looks to upgrade every aspect of her life on a continual basis. I’ve never known her not to want to do better, on all levels.

So I asked, “What if you said something like, Read the rest of this entry »

RANT: Dangerous Questions Part II: Is the Customer King or Vassal?

Dangerous Questions, Rant 2 Comments

sand-trap2RANT: I’m grinding my teeth over this one. If you have 1ShoppingCart (or 1AutomationWiz, or any of the other sister sites that 1SC supports), you’ve probably seen their new announcements that “premier” customer service is going to cost you an extra 35 bucks a month. What????

I should pay that much every month in order to be first in line when I only call them three or four times a year? No way. I should be put on the back burner and wait ten years for a service rep if I don’t pay it? That sucks.

Now let’s look at Zappos. Ever heard of them? They started out selling shoes. Now they have a full palette of products, and are planning to expand out indefinitely.

Their entire platform is highest-possible quality customer service. That’s it. They absolutely bend over backwards to provide the most outrageously good service that their customers become avid, loyal, lifetime customers. Obviously that includes quality products, else how would their service work, right?

I watched a video the other night where the owner was talking about this. He gave several examples of how customer service agents had gone not the extra mile but the extra 100 for people. He said that, in most companies, the average call-time for a customer service call has to be 3.5 minutes or less–or the service rep can get fired! Fired!!!! For helping the customer? How stupid is that? Hello?

RANT: Dangerous Questions Part I: What About Connectivity?

Dangerous Questions, Rant, Recommendations 2 Comments

ponderRANT: Have you ever noticed that there is always someone in the crowd who asks the questions no one else dares to even think of? That’s me. I always seem to open mouth and let fly, even if I’m scared to death.

Because to me, getting the answers to the questions is way more important than tolerating ignornace one more second, even if the reply hits my reality and shatters it. Good–if it shatters, it just means I’m that much closer to authenticity. I have seen no answer to this:

What happens to our great connectivity, to which we have become so drastically accustomed–using and interacting with every day–vis a vis, the internet–if something were to happen and electricity disappeared? Ooooh, what a thought!

Yes, a radical question. But after experiencing a couple of days last year when there were either thunder storms that took power lines out or a car wreck that plowed through a local power pole and left the entire neighborhood without power for hours, I began to ask myself what it would be like to go back to our pre-connected days. Ugh!

The first day that happened, I just went down to the beach and took a well-deserved break. But then it kept going Read the rest of this entry »

A better design for cpanel.net’s email page

Rant Comments Off

Here’s how the email access panel looks in my account right now.

1. It’s virtually unreadable because of the center justification. The human eye doesn’t track down the center, it tracks on edges.

2. The email addresses are out of alphabetical order. If you have a lot of email addess (I have over 60) it’s a much longer process to find each one.

3. Why on earth would you make a 2-click access?

Why not put the email access right next to the address, with a box with BOTH access and configure showing clearly without having to click on the stupid ‘more’ button? Why would I want one more step to access my emails?

cpanel-1

Here’s what I suggest:

1. Make the email addresses left-justified, in alphabetical order.

You may have listed them according to date of opening the account – I don’t give a rat’s behind about dates, I want to access my emails fast.

Having them out of order is nuts.

2. Then make the access box right next to the address. See how much handier that is?

I hope I get my wish soon!
